Solvent selection strategy for an ISPR (In Situ/In stream product recovery) process: The case of microbial production of p-coumaric acid coupled with a liquid-liquid extraction

چکیده

This work reports on a solvent selection for the liquid–liquid extraction of p-coumaric acid produced by an engineered strain Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The is key point processes and this describes simple strategy to choose suitable in situ or stream product recovery (ISPR) process during bioconversion. ISPR allow limit inhibition caused end-products accumulation fermentation medium. consists scoring different solvents based criteria weighted according their significance process. Extraction performance, biocompatibility compatibility with materials, were chosen as essential first two assessed experimentally using distribution coefficients flow cytometry, respectively. Following step, three selected candidates interest ranked needs secondary criteria, namely safety, sourcing price. Finally, oleyl alcohol obtained highest score was therefore considered most candidate aim continuously extracting from step towards implementation integrated extractive bioconversion production bio-based molecules such p-hydroxycinnamic acids derivatives.
